Drill
Pass-Set-Through Continuous 3-man passing pattern
Simple vertical 3-man pattern with two variations to work on set passes and set-pass-through. Not a third-man run drill per se, but good foundations for this.
Setup
Groups of 3 split with two end cones 12-15 yds apart, and two cones/poles/mannequins in the center spaced 3 yds apart. (A tighter passing area); One ball w/spares nearby;
Instructions
Consult Diagram First Variation Central player (B) steps outside of gate to receive pass from (A) (A) passes to (B), (B) sets back to (A), (A) hits a through ball to (C) down the middle (and A moves to middle, B moves to outside) 2nd Variation (A) passes to (B) who stays central (A) shifts outside to receive a set pass (B) sets the ball back to A out wide (A) passes to (C) outside the poles (A) moves to middle, (B) to outside replacing (A)
Progressions
One variation has the central player break out wide, while second variation has passer make a shifting run wide to receive a set pass.
